There is no ramp, but there is room to park on adjacent streets. It is the furthest upstream location within the coastal zone to launch a small boat. Avenue between the bridges at Bridge Street and Route 8 is a lovely, open
area along the river with walking paths. The launch is under the Route 8
Bridge. Follow the paved path to a dirt path to a short steep bank to
access the river. Directly across the river is OʼSullivanʼs
Island in Derby and just downstream is where the Naugatuck River joins the
