Additional Info:

Along Canal Street and Riverdale Avenue between the bridges at Bridge Street and Route 8 is a lovely, open area along the river with walking paths. The launch is under the Route 8 Bridge. Follow the paved path to a dirt path to a short steep bank to access the river. Directly across the river is OʼSullivanʼs Island in Derby and just downstream is where the Naugatuck River joins the Housatonic from the east.

This section is tidal. Please check tide charts and wind conditions.
