From the East: Take I-95 South to exit 32. Make a left onto Linden Avenue. Turn left onto West Broad Street. You are going to pass through one roundabout. Then take a right onto Route 113/Main Street, follow for 0.7 miles. Turn left onto Birdseye Street. Follow Birdseye Street to the end where the Boat Launch is located.

From the West: Take I-95 North to exit 31. Take a sharp right onto Honeyspot Road. Then make a left onto Birdseye Street. Follow Birdseye Street to the end where the Boat Launch is located.

Parts of the site offering views of the water are wheelchair accessible. Some facilities/uses listed may not be fully accessible to the mobility-impaired.

Site Description:

Birdseye Street Boat Launch is an easy to use boat launch at the mouth of the Housatonic River with plenty of parking. There is also a deck for sitting and viewing the Housatonic River and Nell’s Island. Launching requires town permit. Restrooms are portable and only available during the summer. To help you reach Birdseye Street Boat Launch, some routes leading to this site are posted with the brown and white Long Island Sound Access sign

Recently upgraded, very nice boat ramp and fingers for access to Nells Island and Long Island Sound. Ample parking and a snack hut (if hut is closed you can always take a left on Elm St., go about a mile, and get a chili dog at The Cricket, opposite the Avco plant).

Access from parking area down sandy or paved ramps. Big boat and fishing area. Check for parking permit requirements. Port-a-potties, picnic area.
