From the East: Take I-95 South to Exit 69, and travel onto Route 9 North. Proceed on Route 9 North for 3.4 miles. Take Exit 3, and at the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Route 154/Middlesex Turnpike/Saybrook Road and proceed an extremely short distance. Turn right onto West Avenue and continue for under 0.5 miles. Bear right onto Champlin Square/West Avenue and then bear slightly to the left while remaining on West Avenue. Then turn left onto South Main Street and continue straight. Next, bear right onto Essex Square, and then quickly bear right again onto Main Street. Proceed on Main Street to its terminus -- the Town Dock will be located straight ahead.

Parts of the site offering views of the water are wheelchair accessible. Some facilities/uses listed may not be fully accessible to the mobility-impaired.

Site Description:

Essex Town Dock is located at the foot of Main Street, adjacent to the Connecticut River Museum. The boat launch ramp provides access to the Connecticut River. This is a perfect location for watching sailboats race inside Nott Island. Parking is limited. To help you reach Essex Town Dock, some routes leading to this site are posted with the brown and white Long Island Sound Access sign
