Connecticut Water Trails Program Connecticut Boat Launches Middlesex County Old Saybrook Baldwin Bridge Boat Launch (Connecticut River)

From the East:
Take I-95 South to Exit 69, and then immediately take Exit 1 (for Ferry
Point). At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto Essex Road/Old
State Road (which becomes Ferry Road), and follow .4 miles. Baldwin
Bridge State Boat Launch will be located on the left.
From the West:
Take I-95 North to Exit 67. At the end of the exit ramp, make a slight
right onto Route 154/Middlesex Turnpike, and follow a short distance.
Next, turn left onto U.S. Route 1/Boston Post Road and follow 1.1 miles,
at which point Route 1/Boston Post Road then becomes Ferry Road. Proceed
.8 miles on Ferry Road (keeping in mind that the road makes a sharp left
turn). The Baldwin Bridge State Boat Launch is located on the right
underneath the Baldwin Bridge. Directions Map:
Regulations: (A) A 25 MPH nighttime speed limit from 1/2 hour after sunset until 1/2 hour before sunrise on all days of the year. (B) A 30 MPH limit from 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset on Saturdays and Sundays from the Saturday preceding Memorial Day to the Sunday preceding Labor Day inclusive and on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. (C) A 45 MPH limit, from 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset, Monday through Friday, inclusive, during all seasons, and on Saturdays and Sundays from the Saturday following Labor Day to the Friday preceding Memorial Day. No person shall operate a motorboat in excess of Slow-No-Wake: (A) From the Bulkeley Bridge in Hartford to Saybrook outer light in Old Saybrook; when passing marinas, yacht clubs, anchorages and docks, boat launches and congested areas. (B) Within the following specific areas:

This is a large boat launch facility with ample parking, and includes an
access pier for fishing. The Baldwin Bridge State Boat Launch received
an award from the State for providing excellent boating access. To help
you reach Baldwin Bridge State Boat Launch, some routes leading to this
site are posted with the brown and white Long Island Sound Access sign. Environment: Tidal River,
