Bantam River

Site Location:   Goshen Road, Litchfield, Connecticut

Basic Information:

If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing paddle through pristine marshes and woods, this is the place for you. Bantam River is a quite small river (more like a stream) that goes between Bantam Lake and a very small pond.  Bantam River is a small, calm river that flows between Little Pond and Bantam Lake. Lots of songbirds, vacated beaver dams, water plants. A very nice quiet place to paddle. Follow the river southwest to Bantam Lake, which is a small, quiet lake. It's a good fishing spot, so weekends might be busy here with motorboats, etc. This is a good place to go if you have limited time/energy and need some quiet.
