Site Location:    East Twin Lake, Salisbury, Connecticut

Basic Information:

Lake Washinee is about 1.6 miles (2.6 km) long, and under a quarter mile (0.4 km) wide of except for its squarish roughly 0.5 by 0.6 mile (0.8 by 1.0 km) southernmost section. As one of the Twin Lakes of Salisbury, Lakes Washinee and Washining, whose supposed identities as twins seem in conflict with their dissimilar size and shape.

Route 44, north on Twin Lakes Road, take the gravel road on the left, 2.7 miles north of Route 44 and 0.4 miles north of the marina. Launch is located on East Twin Lake.

Important Note:

   Zebra Mussels

Due to the presence of zebra mussels (an invasive species) any boat used in these lakes must NOT be used again for 5 days afterwards & should be cleaned with hot water.
