On The Water:
There is great paddling on the reservoir. You can spend your time
exploring the shoreline and coves watching the wildlife.
The section of the reservoir northwest of the
East Haddam-Colchester Turnpike causeway is busy with boaters -
the section south of the causeway is a much more enjoyable paddle.
Cautions:
Site History:
Moodus comes from the
Pequot Indian
word
machimoodus, meaning “land of noises.” The area’s loud booms have
mystified residents for hundreds or even thousands of years.
