Put-In and Take Out:
On the Water This is a long narrow lake. The trip to the north is against the flow of the river and can be a good hard paddle. Just below the dam (slightly beyond the sign that says "DANGER, DO NOT PASS THIS POINT") you may spot bald eagles feeding and other wildlife. The southern half of the lake is bounded on it's west bank by Paugussett State Park for much of it's length. There is at least one very pretty waterfall cascading into the river in the Park area. The Park is undeveloped except for hiking trails marked with blazes. You could easily spend a whole day hiking these trails Cautions: There is a dam at either end of this lake.
