Driving Directions:

Exit 86 off I-95. Groton,  Rt 12 to bridge that crosses the cove. Turn west towards the Thames River on the last street in Ledyard before the state highway bridge crosses into Preston. Looks like a private driveway, but is a town-maintained road that ends at a small paved parking lot serving the boat ramp

Outstanding example of Thames River estuarine tidal wetland and shoreland forest natural area. Ten minute walk to pristine shoreline from parking area/access trail. Parking area and access trail begin just west of Route 2A wetland/tidal creek crossing. Avoid entering dangerous abandoned incinerator area adjacent to the access trail. Extensive upland trail system throughout the site's hemlock forest. Be sure to bring your camera to this site!
