All over Connecticut there are camp sites next to salt water and freshwater.  Some freshwater areas have small ponds, others have large lakes and a few are adjacent to rivers.  All can be reserved via telephone or website using the information listed on the last page.  Also, to find out more about each location and for a map of the campsites, go to: Camping in Connecticut

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has a toll free telephone and on-line system to reserve campsites at state park and forest campgrounds. Reservations for all state campgrounds are available on-line or by calling toll free 1-877-668-CAMP (2267) during the following hours:

 

March 15 – Labor Day

  • Monday - Friday: 8am - 8pm

  • Saturday and Sunday: 9am - 3pm.

Off Peak Season

  • Monday - Friday: 9am - 5pm

 

Payment may be made by credit card, personal check, money order or travelers check when calling the toll free number or by credit card on-line. Call for fee information. Reservations are accepted from 11 months to 2 days prior to the camping stay. Reservations are not accepted at most campgrounds for dates prior to Memorial Day Weekend or from Labor Day through September 30, when campsites are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Unreserved campsites are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
