Kayak & Canoe Safety Awareness Week

Norwalk Mayor Richard Moccia and Wilton First Selectman Bill Brennan will be supporting a proclamation along with many local and state officials and organizations. The US Coast Guard Aux 72, the Outdoor Sports Center of Wilton, the Small Boat Shop of Norwalk and local kayakers have joined forces for the effort as a result of several kayaking mishaps in recent years. “Operation Paddle Smart” literature will be handed out at the Calf Pasture Beach kayak launch on Memorial Day weekend and other events will be announced.
